Scoring

The scoring system remains the same as in the 11/12 season of fantasy football. If you’re familiar with that system, feel free to skip over this section.

Points are scored according to the Telegraph Fantasy football system, with one exception: Players do not score points in FA cup games.

If a player is selected in your 11 for a week’s fixtures (see section 4 below), he will score:
• 2 points for being in the starting XI
• 1 point for coming on as a substitute
• 5 points for scoring a goal
• 3 points for making a key contribution to a goal (usually the assister, and a maximum of one other player who made a key contribution eg pass to the assister)
• -1 point for a yellow
• -3 points for a red card
• +5 points for saving a penalty
• -2 points for missing a penalty
• -3 points for an own goal
• Defenders and goalkeepers only score
o 4 points for keeping a clean sheet, full match played
o 2 points for keeping a clean sheet, partial match played.
